Hello!!!!! I’m Lisa, Momma to three scrumptious Littles, A, S & L. Like most mommas, I survive on coffee and sarcasm to get through the day, and most definitely wouldn’t change (almost) a thing about it! I’m a Northern Ontario girl who recently found herself back home where she belongs, and am settling into life with my wee family surrounded by all the familiar things I remember from my own childhood; wide open spaces, good friends, and most importantly, lots of family! I love coffee (did I already mention that?), chocolate, wine and Pinterest!
Hobbies For Days
There are a lot of things I take joy in, but a few hobbies stand out the most. I recently fell back in love with crocheting, something my Nanna taught me to do when I was quite little. While I definitely still have some learning to do, I find crochet to be such a soothing task, and a great way to pass the time during our long Northern winters. I also love to read, and am a known repeat reader. If I love a book or series, I will read it over and over. I’ve been this way since I was a kid, and I guess some things never change. The same can be said about favourite movies; if I love them, repeat viewings are inevitable (much to my husbands dismay).
However the hobby I am most passionate about is memory keeping. Scrapbooking, both physical and digital, captivate me in the very best way. There is something about taking pieces of our lives and putting them together in a creative way that just makes my heart so happy! I am a huge fan of Ali Edwards, and participate in many of her yearly memory keeping projects, with my favourites being December Daily & Week In The Life. I also love the simplicity of Cathy Zielski’s digital methods, which help me tell stories without a lot of fuss, which is sometimes exactly what I need.
Becoming A WAHM
Somewhere during my pregnancy and subsequent maternity leave with L, I found myself falling in love with Silver Icing, a women’s fashion company that ‘inspires confidence through fashion’, and empowers women in so many ways. It was late 2015, and I was floating along in MommyLand, but missing the connections I had with my traditional work environment. Don’t get me wrong, MommyLand is an amazing place to be, but I truly value the personal and professional development I get from working with others.
When I found myself immersed in a network of amazing women, both those I work alongside (my Silver Sisters), and those I work for (my tribe, my Ladies, my Foxy Friends….you know who you are 😘 ), my life forever changed. I became a Work At Home Mom (WAHM). Seriously. Living in MommyLand, and WORKING in MommyLand. It has become the very best of both worlds for me!
Over the past few years I have learned so much about myself, as well as about being the best WAHM I can possibly be. I have put my own professional development at the forefront, (hello Suitelandia…I see you girl), and truly look forward to the work I do each day.
Let’s Keep In Touch, Mmmk?
I’m looking forward to getting to know you, and would love to have you stick around our Momma With A Minute Community. You definitely don’t have to be a Momma, (although we do share the occasional mom joke), but we’ll be chatting about fashion, style, coffee, wine, and all things #girlsnightout.
